Appointments & Fees
Standard consultations are 50 minutes long and may involve individual child, parent-child or family sessions. I encourage parent involvement in sessions, or some/part of sessions, wherever appropriate. I will discuss with you and your child what you are most comfortable wit, and structure sessions accordingly.

A 50-minute clinical psychological consultation is $195 ($170 for pension cardholders). This fee is reduced to $65.45 ($40.45 for pension cardholders) after the Medicare rebate of $129.55 is applied with a current Mental Health Care Plan. A Mental Health Care Plan obtained from your medical practitioner is required in order to claim the Medicare rebate. The Medicare EasyClaim system is available onsite to directly deposit the Medicare rebate into your savings or cheque account at the time of payment.
Please be aware that all accounts are to be paid in full on the day of the consultation.
Fees are kept significantly below the $260 recommended fee published by the Australian Psychological Society (more information is available here).
Formal report writing, if required, will incur additional charges (not covered by Medicare).
Cognitive Assessments will require 4 hours of consultation (charged at the usual consultation rate), including an initial information and feedback session, and 1.5-2 hour assessment session. The Medicare rebate may be applicable. In addition, a comprehensive report will be prepared and is an additional $520+GST (not covered under Medicare).
A cancellation fee of $50 applies to appointments that are unattended or cancelled/rescheduled within 24 hours of the appointment time.
A Medicare rebate of $129.55 per session is available to Australian's with a diagnosis of a specific mental health disorder under the Better Access to Mental Health Care initiative. The Medicare rebate is available for up to 10 sessions within a calendar year. A General Practitioner, Paediatrician or Psychiatrist can provide you with a qualifying referral.
Enhanced Primary Care Plan
Patients who have a chronic condition and complex care needs that are being managed by their GP under a Enhanced Primary Care Plan may be eligible to receive Medicare rebates for Psychologist services and certain other Allied Health Professionals. This program is initiated by your GP, who will determine if you are eligible, and if so, coordinate an Enhanced Primary Care Plan for relevant allied health services.
Helping Children with Autism (HCWA) or plan-managed NDIS funding may be applicable.
Further information is available on the AMAZE and NDIS websites.
Private Health Funds
Private Health Fund rebates for psychological services are provided by most health funds under their ancillary/extra tables. These rebates differ depending on your health fund and your level of cover. Please check with your health fund for details about your level of cover. Please note, Private Health Fund rebates can not be used for Medicare rebated sessions.
